Thanksgiving Feast Performance

Kennedy had her first school performance this morning, the five kindergarten classes sang Thanksgiving songs in their Native American Attire they worked on for the past couple of weeks. Kennedy picked the name LadyBug Girl for her native name :) Kennedy practiced for us at the dinner table over the last few weeks, but felt a little nervous this morning before school, but of course they all did great and were super cute!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kenendy's 6th Birthday

Our sweet, precious Kennedy turned six last week!!! She brings so much joy to our lives and we can't imagine our family without her. She is growing up so fast and it is so hard to believe she is six, six just sounds so old!!! She wanted a party at Build-a-Bear Workshop and had talked about it for months, she was so excited the day it finally arrived that she woke us at 5:30am ready to go. Her party was a huge success and loads of fun, many of her classmates and long-time friends came to share in her celebration, fifteen in all. It is fun getting to know her classmates and their families, she has a great group of kids in her class!! The next day, on her actual birthday, Caleb and I had lunch with her in the cafetria at school and of course she picked her buddy, Hudson, to sit with us :) We then had cupcake muffins with her classmates and she was so cute when they sang Happy Birthday, getting embarassed and covering her mouth, it doesn't take much to embarass our shy little girl! That night, her Daddy, brother, and I took her out to eat, she chose Red Lobster and Baskin Robbins. Family Reunion

We traveled down to Alexandria, Louisana for the Mahfouz family reunion this weekend and had a great time visiting with family and eating lots of yummy middle eastern foods. Dave's great-grandparents were from Syria and the family carries on the tradition of cooking the foods from the middle east mixed with cajun as well! Always fun to try these and I was really suprised Kennedy liked most of them, Caleb was too busy playing with his cousins to eat.

 

 

 

 

1st Field Trip

Kennedy took her first field trip of kindergarten last week to Motley's Pumpkin Patch here in Little Rock!! Caleb and I met her there and had such a good time watching her interact with all her classmates!! We watched the pig races, which is always her favorite, went on a hayride, learned some cool facts about pumpkins, went on a cow train ride, played in the hayfort and had some lunch before heading back to school. I cannot brag enough on how blessed I feel to have her in Mrs. Haupt's class and with a great group of diverse kids!!! I'm so happy with where God has her this year!!

Moving Edouard to UCA

Our Rwandan son, Edouard, started UCA this fall, the same day Kennedy started kindergarten. We moved him to his dorm the day before they were both to start their new journeys, one to college and one just getting started. We were happy to have him close enough to come home and visit whenever he wants and we talk to him about once a week. He seems to be really enjoying his time so far.
